Description:
The project will improve accessibility and road safety for approx. 25,000 daily cyclists and approx. 11,000 pedestrians by expanding bike paths and sidewalks and leading fluctuating vehicles to the light -controlled intersections in separate turn lanes. To make room for the extensions, the road area is limited to oneDriving tracks in each direction, by shutting down the bus lanes. At the same time, Torvegade is restored throughout its width. In accordance with the recommendations in the bicycle focus 2024, the bike paths are expanded to a width of 3.5 meters except at Christianshavns Torv, where the width becomes 2.9 meters. The sidewalks are expanded to widthsof up to five meters. It improves conditions for the street's pedestrians, who in the event of congestion on the sidewalk no longer have to step out on the bike path, which also benefits the safety of cyclists. At the same time, it supports Torvegade's expression such as Str0ggade. On the stretch between the city trench are establishedA wide green middle discount with expected 19 new trees. As a consequence of the redevelopment of Torvegade, more adjustments to the traffic currents must also be made in the side streets. This means that unidirections need to be changed, canceling some unidirections and a new road closure is established. Furthermore, there must be moved26 car parking spaces with New pavement developments and 109 new bicycle parking spaces will be established. The contractor must participate in project optimization with TMF and TMF's advisor in order to optimize the construction schedule, cf. the project optimization agreement.
