Description:
Offer of Enterprise contract regarding New Church 0restad for Islands Brygges Parish.
The church is to be built at the address Richard Mortensens Vej 1, matr. no. 919a Sundby Overdrev, Copenhagen.
The church was designed by Henning Larsen and is built in wood. The church is being built in 0restad's Arena quarter with proximity to both culture, approxbus and subway. It is the first newly built church in Copenhagen in 30 years and will have a size of approx. 1618 m2 spread over 2 floors.
In addition to the church room, the church contains a church office and space for informal cultural activities, e.g. communal dining, small concerts, yoga, dance or lectures. Also workjds areas for the church's employees and a screened courtyard.
The inspiration for the building's characteristic roof caps comes from the tree crowns of the forest, which lead the eye up and at the same time allow daylight to filter down. The interior floor of the church room and fortified areas outside are constructed of hard-burnt brick in a golden hue.
On the ground floor, the facade will have wood-clad window niches with seating options. The rest of the facade is clad with Canadian cedar that is laid on chips with a rough surface that will age over time to a silvery gray shade.
The church room and the culture rooms will have a capacity of 275 and 130 seats.
Kirken must be certified as DGNB gold, and is expected to be inaugurated in the year 2026.
The selected contractor must, as part of the main contract, and on the basis of the requirements, descriptions and drawings of the tender materials, after entering into the contract, complete the design of the following parts of the building:
