Description:
DSB aims to expedite Denmark's transition to green energy by modifying how DSB purchase electricity. This will further solidify the position of trains as one of the most sustainable modes of transport. In the upcoming years, DSB plans to enter into several Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with renewable energy providers. This tender is therefore the first in a series of expected tenders that DSB plans to conduct in the near future. Under this Tender, DSB intends to enter into a Pay-as-Produced sleeved ('physical') PPA with a Renewable Energy Provider for the supply of solar power. The power shall come from a new build grid-connected facility located in East Denmark (DK2). DSB will purchase the power generated, including the Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origins (REGOs) from the new solar facility. Under the terms of the PPA, DSB will pay a fixed price in DKK per Megawatt hour (MWh) for an agreed percentage of the power generated from the new solar power facility and must be between 40-80 Gigawatt hours (GWh) reflecting DSB-s output requirement to the annual supply of power from the solar facility. The new solar power facility must be able to begin delivering power to DSB under the PPA no earlier than 1 January 2025 and no later than 31 December 2025. The term of the PPA will be 10 years from the Supply Start Date.
