Description:
1) Background and purpose
The current tender includes the acquisition of a standard biometric solution, including the implementation of national adaptations, development, integrations, support, maintenance and further development of an overall solution consisting of software and equipment that will support that the Danish policecan identify individuals using biometrics. The solution is applicable in the investigation, but also in the legal process, emergency response, in the field of immigration, etc.
The identification section of the National Forensic Technology Center (hereafter referred to as NKC), manages the current Central Fingerprint Register inDanish police. The current Central Fingerprint Register is a standard solution that has been adapted to the specific national needs of the Danish police, which includes, among other things, the management and administration of data, business rules, processes and user access, etc.
Today contains the current releaseing around 500,000 personal prints (finger/hand and/or footprints recorded from a person under controlled conditions). The solution also contains approx. 50,000 clues, containing approx. 250,000 fingerprints (fingerprints/handprints and/or footprints secured from surfaces, effects and the likethose in connection with the police's investigation of criminal acts or in connection with the investigation of disasters, for example).
