Purchase of Secondary Dose Calculation Software
Task description: The Cancer Department at Aarhus University Hospital handles all disciplines in radiation therapy including SBRT, SRS, TBI, Brachyterapy and Surface Therapy. For certain high-specialized treatments, the Cancer Department has regional or country functions. According to the Ministry of Health's Executive Order No. 669 of 1 July 2019 §66, in radiation therapy, calculations of the dose distribution must be made in accordance with the prescription and carried out an independent check that the dose of the delivered is consistent with the planned within the determined tolerances. For dynamic treatment plans, the department's quality assurance procedures for fulfilling the Executive Order's requirement for independent control in recent years have changed from a combination of a dose measurement of the plan on an accelerator and a simple dose calculation at a point in the plan to consist of a number of dosimetric TJEKS of the plan via information from the plan output on the accelerator combined with a full 3D dose calculation with an advanced calculation algorithm.
