Description: In order to increase awareness of raw material resources at sea, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency every year collects seismic data and raw material drilling in the Danish waters used for mapping the location, volume and quality of the raw materials. Data and results from raw material mappings are collected in a public national database - the marine raw material database (Marta) - which has been developed in collaboration with GEUS (National Geological Surveys for Denmark and Greenland). from the sea nationally and regionally. The extraction of raw materials in the common areas is approx. 80 % of the total recovery from the sea and an even greater proportion of daily raw material supply from the sea.
