The independent institution 0havsmuseet Faaborg hereby publishes an open project competition regarding proposals for the expansion of the 0havsmuseet in Faaborg.
0havsmuseet is Denmark's only museum for inner and outer landscapes, a museum that focuses on and works with the natural physical outer landscape vs. thet inner sensuous artistic, spiritual landscape, seen across our cultural history.
The task solution must support the 0havsmuseet's vision of developing into a significant institution that locally gathers and gives pride - and at the same time is known nationally and internationally for exciting research samt innovative, easily accessible and visible dissemination of knowledge.
The 0havsmuseet's exhibitions are organized with sound, lighting design, moods and exciting stories, so that the guest feels and senses the experience firsthand.
The 0havsmuseet, its expansion and open space are part of the entire development of the surrounding areang the existing port in Faaborg and the transformation of the Slagteri grounds. The 0havsmuseet is located in the Fr0lageret, one of three buildings preserved in connection with the demolition of Danish Crown's buildings.
The vision for the overall 0havsmuseum is a museum with a functional and aesthetic framework in whichstories and experiences can be unfolded and varied with changing exhibitions, installations and events. At the museum, you do not encounter display cases with long texts, but are invited to sense and feel as an experience in itself and as a means of becoming curious about the museum's knowledge.
