- During the period 2022-2024, the Road Directorate and Sund & Baelt have conducted a "preliminary study of a permanent connection between ALS and Funen" in order to provide a better basis for a political discussion and decision on the project's further course. A summary report and different technical Background reports and notes can be seen on the project's website: alsfyn.dk. This tender for a supplementary feasibility study for Route 8 on Funen must be seen in the context of the previous feasibility study, where at the request of the conciliation circle behind the infrastructure agreement, the infrastructure agreement was also implemented in Screening for Route 8 on Funen from Faaborg to Kvaerndrup by the Svendborg motorway as an alternative route to route 43 on Funen.
In this tendering of supplementary preliminary examination, the advisor must examine and sketch project one or more lines that are assessed optimally between Faaborg and Kvaerndrup at the Svendborg motorway in and around Route 8, as the starting point is upgrading of existing road sections with any bypass roads and the export of curves in order to compare the possibilities with the alignment (Route 43) that is included in the "preliminary study of a fixed connection between Als and Funen "published December 2024 (henceforth referred to as the feasibility study).
