Description : Gas Storage Denmark hereby invites participants to a market dialogue regarding potential usage of brine from the caverns at our gas storage. Aspects of sustainability in the solution are highly encouraged. The gas storage in Lille Torup is storing gas in caverns which have been washed out in a salt diapir. In connection with maintenance of the wells, one cavern has been filled with water from the fjord: Limfjorden. The water in this cavern is saturated with salt (brine). Sometime after the year of 2025, Gas Storage Denmark is anticipating disposing of approximately 500.000 m3 of brine. The brine is to be retrieved from the gas storage in Viborg Municipality in the northern part of Jutland in Denmark over a period of 6 to 12 months. At the current moment any additional future amount of disposed brine is not known. Question to participants: What is your proposal for a - preferably sustainable - solution for disposal and/or usage of the above-mentioned brine?
