Description:
Expansion of the existing hydroelectric power plant is tendered in one turnkey contract. The contractor will be responsible for both civil and electrical works. A prequalification will be conducted with an expected selection of four contractors. The tender will be conducted through negotiations, with two rounds of bidding expected. The Buksefjord hydropower plant was commissioned in 1993 with two 15 MW units in Power Station 1. In 2008, a third 15 MW unit was added. The hydropower plant uses the water from Kangerluassunnguup Tasia and supplies Nuuk with energy for light/power and heating. Inatsisartut (the Parliament of Greenland) has instructed Naalakkersuisut (the Government of Greenland) to work on expanding the power supply from the Buksefjord hydropower plant (EM 2019/153). Power Station HPP3 will be located by the lake Kangerluarsunnguup Tasia with new turbines with a total of some 76,9 MW. To supply water to the new power station a new 16-km-long transfer tunnel between the lakes Isortuarsuup Tasia (ISTA) and Kangerluarssunnguup Tasia (KANG) will be constructed. The transfer tunnel will be blasted or drilled between the outlet side at KANG and the inlet side at ISTA. Before work on the tunnel can commence, a construction road must be built from the existing road at KANG to the construction site at the outlet to KANG, and from KANG a connecting road must be made to the construction area at the inlet at ISTA.
