Description : This activity is part of a greater consortium focusing on strenghtening democracy post election in Kenya. One of DIPD's activities focuses on the implementation of a series of training or “Democratic Boot Camps” for newly elected women, youth and PWD members of the National Assembly and political journalists and editors in Kenyan society. These Democratic Boot Camps are to focus on the relationship between the political world and the press, who both have a distinct role to play in shaping a public conversation based on democratic values. These activities will aim to create an enabling environment for ‘constructive politics-, but also to teach skills on how politicians can engage constructively with journalists and contribute to a media that presents a fair, accurate and contextualized picture.
