Metro Service A/S (hereafter Mese) has since 2002 operated and maintained the Copenhagen Metro for the Metro Company (MS). In October 2025, Mese is expected to initiate the operation of the capital's light rail at Ring 3 and before the startup is expected to be employed up to 180 light rail drivers, technicians andControl space operators for the new control and maintenance center (hereafter CMC) in Glostrup.
The light rail will cover a total of approx. 28 km and includes 29 stations from Ish0j to Lundtofte north of Lyngby.
The stretch will come into operation in 2 stages where phase 1 (South: Ish0j Station toHerlev Station) with expected start -up in October 2025 and includes 14 stations and 19 train sets. Phase 2 (Nord: Herlev City Center Station to Lundtofte Station) with an additional 15 stations and 10 train sets and expected start -up in May 2026.
