Description: Aalborg Municipality initiates - in collaboration with Realdania and Coastal Directorate - Climate protection of the Western waterfront and invites for prequalification prior to an architectural competition for a qualified vision for how Aalborg's Vestby can be secured against future seawater increases and floods as well as a boost to the area's maritime qualities and Recreational offers.

The competition area is located in Aalborg Vestby between the railway bridge and Vestre Fjordvej.

Competition proposals must include a qualified coastal protection of both the actual project area, but also the underlying and adjacent urban areas.

As part of the proposal, a comprehensive plan for the area, which in addition to ideas for coastal protection contains proposals to strengthen the area's green and blue qualities. In addition, an adaptive climate strategy must be prepared to ensure overall plan's adaptability over time. The strategy is based on a Dapp analysis.
